Urban desert dweller Dominic Pettine escapes on dusty roads and mountain peaks. Traveling the world carrying a guitar and banging on pianos, Dominic Pettine writes songs that capture the thrill of wide open spaces, the unknown and great escapes. Songs are infused with the groove and melody of dangerous and beautiful stories that bring light and hope and love to listeners. 

 

Growing up in one of the most diverse neighborhoods in America and traveling the world Dominic brings instruments and musical beats influenced by his unique perspective. Dominic Pettine’s diverse musical influences include dance, old school hip hop, indie pop and rock, world pop and acoustic songwriters. 

 

Dominic’s musical obsessions have evolved over time. As a child Dominic was rocking tennis rackets to 80’s rock anthems by Guns n Roses and ACDC. As an adolescent Dominic was drawn to the gritty grunge and rock influences of Nirvana, Pearl Jam and the Smashing Pumpkins. Growing as a guitar player Dominic passionately learned riffs from Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Metallica and Pink Floyd. 

 

As a teenager Dominic became increasingly drawn to groove driven artists including the Nappy Roots, Dilated Peoples, Ozomatli, Jurassic 5, 311, Pax 217, Sublime and Outcast.Additional influences include singer songwriters like Jack Johnson, David Crowder, John Mayer, the Zac Brown Band and Bob Dylan.

 

Dominic lives a passionate life, traveling, ramping bikes, making art and music, teaching, gardening, and speaking. Music is a spiritual release and gift that Dominic shares with the world to spread light and hope and to fuel the creativity of listeners.
